RIMAN Expert Ritual Experience Kit: Try the Routine Before Going Full-Size

RIMAN Expert Ritual Experience Kit: Try the Routine Before Going Full-Size

The complete RIMAN ICD Expert Ritual is a nine-piece system at $380.00. That is a real commitment for anyone who has never used the line.

The questions underneath it are usually practical. Will I like the textures? Do I actually want to layer this many products twice a day? Does Boo-Se-Boo make sense for my routine, or is it a step too far? Do I want the whole ritual, or just two or three RIMAN products?

The RIMAN ICD Expert Ritual Experience Kit ($119.00) exists to answer those questions before you spend $380.00 finding out.

What Is the RIMAN Expert Ritual Experience Kit?

It is a curated seven-product introduction to the ICD Expert system — not a sample bag, and not the complete Expert Ritual in smaller bottles. It introduces the logic and layering style of the Expert Ritual: double cleanse, hydrate, calm, then Boo-Se-Boo, then moisturize.

What it does not do is contain every product in the full ritual. Three pieces of the complete Expert Ritual are not in the box at all, and one of the cleansers is different. More on that below, because it is the part most people get wrong.

What's Inside the Experience Kit?

Product Role in the Routine
RIMAN ICD Moisture Cleansing Oil First cleanse
RIMAN ICD Balancing Gel Cleanser Second cleanse
RIMAN ICD Two Phase Oil Mist Hydrating mist
RIMAN ICD Calming Balance Gel Lightweight hydration and comfort
RIMAN ICD Dermatology Booster First Boo step
RIMAN ICD Dermatology Serum Se treatment step
RIMAN ICD Dermatology Booster Boo again
RIMAN ICD Dermatology Cream Moisturizer

Seven physical products, eight application steps — the Booster is used twice.

On sizes: the product page does not currently publish the individual sizes in this kit, so we are not going to guess at them. If travel size specifically is what you need, check the listing before ordering rather than assuming.

The Experience Kit Routine, In Order

Product 1 — Moisture Cleansing Oil

The first cleanse. The RIMAN ICD Moisture Cleansing Oil dissolves makeup, sunscreen and oil-based debris, then emulsifies with water and rinses away.

Start on dry hands and a dry face. RIMAN's directions are explicit about this, and the kit's own product page repeats it: water on the skin first stops the oil doing its job. Massage, then add water to turn it milky, then rinse.

Product 2 — Balancing Gel Cleanser

The second cleanse, and the product that makes this kit different from the full ritual. The RIMAN ICD Balancing Gel Cleanser is a water-based gel that removes what the oil left behind while helping keep the skin's oil-moisture balance.

Worth noting now: the complete Expert Ritual does not include this cleanser. It uses a different cleansing setup entirely.

Why Does the Full Expert Ritual Use Different Cleansers?

This is the single most confusing thing about moving from one set to the other, so here it is plainly.

The Experience Kit double cleanses with: Moisture Cleansing Oil + Balancing Gel Cleanser.

The complete Expert Ritual cleanses with: Moisture Cleansing Oil + Snow Enzyme Cleanser EX + Powder Wash, with the Powder Wash used two to three times a week rather than daily.

Neither is a defective version of the other. The Experience Kit gives you a straightforward two-step cleanse to learn the rhythm; the full ritual expands the cleansing phase with an enzyme cleanser and a periodic exfoliating powder. Think experience version versus expanded full-size version, not small versus large.

Product 3 — Two Phase Oil Mist

The RIMAN ICD Two Phase Oil Mist is a two-layer formula, so shake it before every use or you will spray one phase without the other. Mist evenly over the face for a layer of lightweight hydration and a dewy-looking finish.

Product 4 — Calming Balance Gel

The RIMAN ICD Calming Balance Gel is the comfort layer before the treatment steps — a soothing gel that helps skin feel hydrated and comfortable, particularly when it feels dry or tight.

One ordering note. The Experience Kit places the Mist at step 3 and the Gel at step 4. The complete Expert Ritual reverses them — Gel first, then Mist. Follow whichever set you own; the difference is not worth losing sleep over, but it is worth knowing they are not identical.

Then Comes the Signature RIMAN Step — Boo-Se-Boo

BOO → Dermatology Booster. SE → Dermatology Serum. BOO → Dermatology Booster again.

Boo-Se-Boo is a RIMAN-specific layering method. It is not a universal Korean skincare practice, not a dermatological requirement, and not something other brands recommend. If you have used K-beauty routines for years without applying anything twice, nothing was wrong with them.

What it is, in plain terms, is hydration and layering: a hydrating layer, a treatment, then a second hydrating layer over the top.

Product 5 — Dermatology Booster

The RIMAN ICD Dermatology Booster goes on before the Serum and again after it. It is 88% Giant BYoungPool leaf water — RIMAN's Jeju-grown centella asiatica — so it functions as a substantial hydrating layer rather than a thin toner.

Product 6 — Dermatology Serum

The RIMAN ICD Dermatology Serum is the treatment step, at 81% Giant BYoungPool leaf water with concentrated actives. It supports hydrated, radiant-looking skin and a smoother-looking surface.

The kit's own page suggests letting each layer absorb for 15 to 30 seconds before the next, which is sensible advice for any layered routine.

Product 7 — Dermatology Cream

The RIMAN ICD Dermatology Cream finishes the routine after the second Booster application, sealing in the layers underneath and helping skin feel moisturized and comfortable.

Is the Experience Kit a Complete Morning Routine?

Not by itself. The kit does not include sunscreen, and nothing in it offers UV protection.

A morning runs: the kit's steps as appropriate, then a broad-spectrum sunscreen. To stay within the line, that is the RIMAN ICD Moisture Layer Sunscreen, sold separately.

That sunscreen ($39.00 on its own) is included in the complete Expert Ritual — one of the practical reasons people eventually upgrade.

Who Should Start With the Experience Kit?

It may appeal to you if you would say any of these:

  • "I've never used RIMAN."
  • "I want to understand the layering method before committing to full sizes."
  • "I want to try Boo-Se-Boo and see if I like it."
  • "I don't know whether I'll stick with a multi-step routine."
  • "I want to test the Expert ritual before upgrading."
  • "I like hydration-focused routines."
  • "I'm shopping for a RIMAN gift."

It may not suit you if you already know you want the full system — in which case buying the Experience Kit first costs you $119.00 on the way to the same place.

Why It May Appeal to Mature Skin

Mature skin sometimes becomes more concerned with dryness, dehydration, dullness, visible fine lines, uneven-looking tone, and plain comfort. Not everyone — plenty of mature skin is not dry, and nobody needs eight layers by default.

But where those are the concerns, this ritual's emphasis on layered hydration followed by a richer moisturizer is a reasonable match. The Experience Kit lets you find out whether it suits you at $119.00 rather than $380.00.

The Simplest Way to Understand the Two Sets

EXPERIENCE KIT — discover:
Oil Cleanse → Gel Cleanse → Mist → Calming Gel → Boo → Se → Boo → Cream

COMPLETE EXPERT RITUAL — expand:
Oil Cleanse → Snow Enzyme Cleanser → Powder Wash (2–3× a week) → Calming Gel → Mist → Boo → Se → Boo → Cream → Sunscreen in the morning

Same spine. More cleansing options, and sun protection on the end.

Love the Experience Kit? Here's the Next Step.

If you have run the kit for a few weeks and found that you enjoy the double cleanse, the layered hydration, the Boo-Se-Boo sequence and the Dermatology Cream, the natural next step is the complete RIMAN ICD Expert Ritual.

Upgrading gets you full sizes of what you already liked, plus three things the kit did not have:

Do You Have to Upgrade to the Full Ritual?

No. The Experience Kit's real job is to tell you which parts of RIMAN fit your routine — and for plenty of people the honest answer is "two of them."

If what you loved was the Dermatology Cream, buy the cream ($66.00). If it was the Booster and Serum, buy the Dermatology First Package ($99.00). If it was the cleansing, buy the Moisture Cleansing Oil ($36.00) and the Balancing Gel Cleanser ($29.00). Every product in the kit is sold individually in the RIMAN collection.

There is also a middle option: the RIMAN ICD Essential Ritual Set ($269.00), a six-piece set for someone who wants more than the kit but not the full nine.

Experience Kit vs. Buying Individual Products

The kit makes sense when you want the ritual experience — every step, in the right order, without choosing each product yourself or guessing the layering.

Individual products make more sense when only one concern needs attention, when you already have cleansers you like, when you already have a moisturizer you are happy with, or when you simply prefer a shorter routine.

What If You Don't Want an Eight-Step Routine Every Day?

That is a legitimate position, and the Expert Ritual is unapologetically layered. Not everyone wants this morning and night.

Which is precisely the argument for the Experience Kit. Spending $119.00 to discover that you enjoy four of the eight steps is a good outcome — far better than spending $380.00 to discover the same thing. Use it for a few weeks and notice which steps you look forward to and which you start skipping. The ones you skip are telling you something.

Should Every Step Be Used Twice a Day?

No, and the product directions do not say so.

  • Cleansing depends on need. An oil cleanse earns its place when you have worn makeup or sunscreen. On a bare-faced morning it is often unnecessary.
  • Powder Wash is periodic, not daily. In the full ritual it is directed at two to three times a week. More is not better.
  • Sunscreen is mornings only — and non-negotiable on those.
  • The mist and gel are situational. Use them when skin wants them.

What Results Should You Realistically Expect?

Honest version: a well-layered hydrating routine can leave skin feeling more hydrated and comfortable, looking softer and more radiant, with smoother-looking texture and some improvement in the appearance of fine lines. Dry skin usually notices the difference first.

What it will not do is make wrinkles disappear, erase dark spots, close pores, or lift anything permanently. Any skincare page promising that — including a product page — is overstating it. The Experience Kit is a way to find out whether you like a routine, not a treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in the RIMAN Expert Ritual Experience Kit?

Seven products: Moisture Cleansing Oil, Balancing Gel Cleanser, Two Phase Oil Mist, Calming Balance Gel, Dermatology Booster and Serum, and Dermatology Cream.

How many products are in the Experience Kit?

Seven products, eight application steps — the Booster is applied twice, before and after the Serum.

What order do I use the RIMAN Experience Kit?

Oil cleanse, gel cleanse, mist, calming gel, Booster, Serum, Booster again, cream. In the morning, add sunscreen at the end.

What is Boo-Se-Boo?

RIMAN's layering method: Booster, Serum, Booster. A hydrating layer, a treatment, then a second hydrating layer. It is specific to RIMAN, not a general Korean skincare rule.

Is the Experience Kit good for beginners?

It is arguably the best use of it — you get the whole ritual in the correct order without having to choose products or research the layering, at a third of the full ritual's price.

Is it good for mature or dry-feeling skin?

It may appeal, because the routine is hydration-forward and finishes with a richer cream. That is a preference rather than a rule — mature skin varies, and some people want fewer layers, not more.

Does the Experience Kit include sunscreen?

No. Nothing in the kit provides UV protection. Add a broad-spectrum sunscreen for mornings — the RIMAN ICD Moisture Layer Sunscreen is the in-line option, and it is included in the full Expert Ritual.

What's the difference between the Experience Kit and the full RIMAN Expert Ritual?

The full ritual has nine pieces to the kit's seven, in full sizes. It swaps the Balancing Gel Cleanser for the Snow Enzyme Cleanser EX, adds the Powder Wash, and adds the Moisture Layer Sunscreen.

Is the full Expert Ritual just larger versions of the Experience Kit?

No. That is the most common misunderstanding. The cleansing phase is genuinely different — the Balancing Gel Cleanser in the kit is not in the full ritual, which uses an enzyme cleanser and a periodic powder wash instead — and the full ritual adds sunscreen. It is an expanded ritual, not an enlargement.

What should I buy if I like the Experience Kit?

If you liked the whole system, the complete RIMAN ICD Expert Ritual ($380.00). If you liked part of it, buy those pieces individually from the RIMAN collection, or consider the six-piece Essential Ritual Set ($269.00).
